GIS Model of Purple Loosestrife at Siena College

Fig. 1. This map displays the abundance of Lythrum salicaria, which is more commonly known as Purple Loosestrife, in the marsh at Siena College in Loudonville, NY. The abundance is recorded as the percent of each quadrat that contained Purple Loosestrife. Data is from Dr. Andrea Worthington at Siena College, as well as Siena College Blackboard. 1. This map is great illustration of the changes in the coverage of this invasive species

  2. The choice of orhoimagery works very well and the coverage change is very clear. One thing that should be fixed is that there is alot of unecessary space that is illustrated on the map and unecessary symbols in the legend. The map should be more focused on the area that you are actually concerned with. Additionally, making two maps may make the change in coverage even more clear.

  3. Danielle,
First off, I really like this map it shows what you want it to show. However, like we said in class maybe two maps showing a before and after would get the point across a little clearer. But overall great job!
